Dae & Donn, with their new lineup, Sean 'Seamus' O'Reilly (from Everwonder and Children of the Grave) on bass and backup vocals, and Mark Padgett, from 'Over Easy' and 'Rhythm Tree' on drums, have successfully completed their 1st show: live at Four Lakes Oktoberfest on Friday, 10.18.02 from 6:00 to 9:00pm. The night turned out to be pretty decent weather after all, and the band received a warm reception from the crowd that night. The guys are headed back into the studio to work on their next full-length record. more new soon...

September, 2002

Dae & Donn have selected their new lineup, Sean 'Seamus' O'Reilly (from Everwonder and Children of the Grave) will be joining Dae and Donn. He'll be playing bass, singing backup vocals, and actively contributing in the songwriting department... and on drums... Mark Padgett, from 'Over Easy' and 'Rhythm Tree', is the perfect fit to round out the new foursome. They have finally agreed on a new band name... taken from a hot new song fresh off the presses... (glass world). The new lineup will reveal the new name for their 1st show with the new lineup: live at Four Lakes Oktoberfest on Friday, 10.18.02 from 6:00 to 9:00pm.

June, 2002

OK, it's now official... FT has selected their next lineup, and have rehearsed 3 times, getting everyone on the same page with 16 new tunes. As mentioned last month, Sean 'Seamus' O'Reilly (from Everwonder and Children of the Grave) will be joining Dae and Donn. He'll be playing bass, singing backup vocals, and actively contributing in the songwriting department... and on drums... Mark Padgett, from 'Over Easy' and 'Rhythm Tree', is the perfect fit to round out the new foursome. They are actively searching for a new band name that fits the new lineup. Any suggestions are welcome, and there will be a cool reward if your suggestion is chosen.

May, 2002

Congrats to Donn & Lynn Nelson on their recent marriage! Now that the honeymoon is over, Dae & Donn are ready to surge forward. They guys will continue working in the studio, on yet more new material, and are also ready to make a few decisions on who will be joining the new lineup... At this point, it looks like Sean 'Seamus' O'Reilly (from Everwonder and Children of the Grave) will be joining Dae and Donn. He'll be playing bass, singing backup vocals, and actively contributing in the songwriting department. Also, the search for the right drummer is nearing the end, as the guys have their sights set on the final piece to the puzzle. Once the new lineup is complete, the guys will be searching for a new name for the new band. More on that later...

April, 2002

forgotten toys has been working in the studio for the past several months, on another batch of new material. At the same time, the guys are now talking with about a dozen other musicians to re-work the 'live lineup' for upcoming shows. check back soon to get a 'news update'.

October, 2001

The guys in the band have all been trying to do their part to help out, and have volunteered to participate in a 'NY Disaster Relief Fundraiser' this month on Sunday, October 21st. The fundraiser will take place @ Cool Waters Bar in Crest Hill, starting @ 1pm. There will be several bands, food & drink, and a raffle. The guys will be working in a few new originals, as well as a couple of very tastefully appropriate remake tunes. Check out shows for more info.

Also, FT will be @ 4 Lakes Oktoberfest on Friday, the 19th, for their last outdoor show of the year... Over Easy will be playing too, and it's Jose's brother's b-day! The show goes from 6pm-9pm, but the party will continue on @ the Pub immediately after, continuing long into the night.

The 'staff' @ new day productions will also be giving the web site a 'makeover' soon, so check back in a few days. We'll also be uploading several live 'radio' tracks, and some 'live studio' versions of brand new tunes. These will most likely only be available through our new 'featured song' section (coming soon)... so check back often.

A "Chicago Remembers" Artist's tribute to all...
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this tragedy, their families, and all rescuers and supporters. Let's try not to let 'the enemy' succeed in disrupting our 'lives of freedom'... let's stand together and fight this evil.

Anyway, with that said... the band has successfully moved in to their new studio, Dae's Rock Shop, and are all excited about cranking out some great tunes in a damn comfortable environment. Once finishing touches have been put on, there will be an official 'studio-warming' party... so watch for your invitation.

Dae & Donn will be doing the acoustic thing @ Reilly's Daughter on Thursday, 9.20.01, with a bunch of promo materials for St. Xavier to give away that night... because...

FT will be live on the radio on St. Xavier's WXAV, 88.3 FM on Sunday, 9.23.01 for a full hour from 11am 'til noon. The guys will be hangin' with Ruta, WXAV's hottest radio personality, doing the live acoustic thing, playing some of their new originals, spinning a few tracks off the last CD, some live interview action, and maybe some giveaways to callers... They broadcast from 103rd & Pulaski, so anyone in the Oak Lawn/Evergreen Park area, tune in...

The guys are also excited to be jammin' with Liverlips @ the Rockhouse on Friday, 9.28.01. Check out shows for details.

forgotten toys
is a modern/contemporary rock band from the Chicagoland area. The band began a few years ago, and like so many bands, has undergone a few lineup changes as it has matured. FT began by quickly releasing a 3-song Christmas CD (for 'Toys for Tots'), followed by a full 12-track CD in 1999 - which brings them to their current work of selecting from dozens of fresh new tracks for their third CD. Two of the three members from the last CD (Dae & Donn) have spent the last six months writing, recording, and testing brand new material in a live acoustic setting. Feeling ready and eager, the duo has now selected a new rhythm backbone for the band (Jose and Bill) in order to take forgotten toys to the next level. The band has already secured a handful of supporting live show dates, as the new team looks forward to its next full-length release.

forgotten toys, with their new lineup, can be seen for the first time @ Naperville Ribfest on July 4th from 5-6pm. see shows for more info.

December, 2000
We only have a few dozen copies left of the "I Still Believe" limited edition, containing a rockin' remake of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch". click here to check out audio, or order yourself a copy. We also did a little radio promotion, which was very well received, so listen for it - or better yet - call your favorite radio station and request it (they pretty much all have it).

Dirty Donn will be joining Dae for a series of x-mas unplugged shows including a blowout show on the 25th @ Reilly's Daughter from 9:30 til close. So, after you finish up with all the 'family gathering' stuff, come on out to Reilly's for one of the best shows of the year. click here for other show dates.

Dae, Donn, and yes, even Nigel got together to lay down a funky x-mas blues thang, called "Santa's right outside yo' door" for the WXRT Holiday Spectacular 2000. The tune will be aired as part of their 2 x-mas editions of 'local anesthetic', which will air on 12.17.00 and 12.24.00 @ 7pm. it's x-mas fun for the whole family, so don't miss it. (click here to hear a sneak preview, or to see some behind the scenes photos of the guys).

Some of you might remember that Nigel & Dae also put one together last year, called "Christmas is comin' to town".

Also, rumor has it... Donn & Dae will be putting their heads together to do some fresh writing. More on that rumor later.
